Sounds like the flip side of our time - ie rebelling against the long-standing govt that's grinding us into the ground.

This makes sense to me now I think about it.

Since when did students vote Tory?

Since Labour became tax-raising warmongers?

Didn't Labour always raise taxes though?

Yes, but it used to be tax the rich to spend on the poor, allegedly, not taking teh poorest to shore up failing banks,

Point taken, I'm not a fan myself it was just strange seeing students all for Tory ideals when I remember people around me hating the Conservatives with a passion when I was a student.
If this makes no sense I use having a general anthestic yesterday as an excuse.

When I was a student, poor students got full (ie enough to live on without another job) grants, and labour was trying to increase opportunity while supporting the concept that education should be free and was to the advantage of the country to be so. How things have changed...

Tell me Mr Blair/Mr Brown, if more than 50% of students go onto tertiary education, how can they have above-average earnings? Did you study logic, statistics or economics? Or anything where the workload would be illegal if you were waged? No? I know - do media studies, politics or law, and you practice looking good in front of other people.
